I have been neglecting my Dravilles shamefully...so here we are:

Draco lay awake until the early hours. Did the message mean Neville had forgiven him?

And what kind of a date was “See you tomorrow” anyway? Should Draco go round to Neville’s? But what if the place was still haunted by the vile vulture-hatted virago (Draco was rather pleased with the alliteration).

He awoke late next morning feeling unrested and bad-tempered. Not bothering to pull on a dressing-gown over his pyjama bottoms, he stumbled downstairs in search of coffee.

To meet his mother, who with a suspicious glint in her eye, purred “Draco! At last! Darling, we have a visitor – “

Neville was there. In their breakfast room. Drinking coffee.

Draco was suddenly acutely aware of the fact that he hadn’t even brushed his hair that morning. Merlin’s balls, I must look like something the cat threw up.

Draco subdued his incipient blush through sheer force of will and strode forward with (he hoped) apparent confidence. “Neville! How delightful! I do hope Mother’s been looking after you - ”

“Oh- oh, yes, absolutely.” Neville looked uncomfortable, which couldn’t bode well.

Had Mother’s gushing given the kiss of death to their already faltering relationship?

Or had a crumpled, unkempt Draco done that?

Neville was by now having serious doubts about the wisdom of simply turning up at the Malfoy estate unannounced. True to Draco’s word, Narcissa had been all over him like Devil’s Snare, and Battle of Hogwarts notwithstanding, he simply wasn’t used to people treating him like he was, well, someone.

And then Draco had slunk in, catlike, looking – well, utterly, wantonly, delectably ravishable, was the description that leapt into that tiny part of Neville’s brain not too incoherent for words.

Neville realised, blushing, that not only was he totally incapable of speech, standing up was also rather inadvisable right now.

Neville had always adored blond hair and ivory skin, and with Draco (un)dressed like that he was rather spoilt on both counts – the pale, slender torso had just the merest hint of a line of golden hair disappearing below the low-slung waist-line of those surely illegally diaphanous pyjama bottoms.

Neville fervently hoped eye-candy wasn’t fattening: if it was, he’d just gained several hundred pounds.

Tearing his eyes upwards to his angel’s face, Neville saw that Draco looked – worried? Neville pulled himself together. Clearly, there was comforting to be done.

“Don’t worry about Gran, Sw- Draco. I’ll make her come around.”

Not that I was being demanding, though!
