I loved all the little details that were plucked right out of life - Harry not knowing what to do with his tongue (I remember that!), Severus and Harry both not being attractive and Harry being able to count the hairs in the other's nose ... That's not romantic and not beautiful, it's realistic. I've come across very few stories that were written like that. Spittle flying - sometimes those things are eeew, but mostly they're just what life's like and I'm thoroughly impressed.
