“Lupin, why have you dragged me here?”
“Because, Severus, I want you to finally see what I’ve been telling you all along – that I don’t wish I were with Sirius, or Tonks, or anyone else.”
Lupin stood in front of the Mirror of Erised for a moment, then turned to the Pensieve the Room of Requirement had provided conveniently at one side.
Sighing resignedly, Severus viewed the memory. It showed, as Lupin had promised, the two of them, happily embracing.
Vindicated, Lupin beamed. As they left the room, Severus glanced guiltily in the mirror, where Lily smiled for him alone.
