Snarry 100 Challenge#137: Oil and Water
Characters: Severus Snape/Harry Potter
Snape’s body lies cold and pale, like a waxen effigy fashioned for immolation on some commemorative pyre. Harry has to take several deep breaths before he can approach it, and the process of undressing it and washing it costs him all the much-vaunted Gryffindor courage he is no longer sure he possesses. The anointing with olive oil and myrrh at forehead and throat, at eyes, nose, mouth and ears, is by contrast almost soothing.
Harry closes thin lips, barely visible in their pallor, over the Resurrection Stone, incants the ritual words, and waits breathlessly.
Hooded eyes open.
Not black.
Red.
