Well, I had a fabulous weekend in Gloucester, involving much quaffing of wine and receiving of tongue-baths (unfortunately only from my friend's extremely friendly dog. Although I have to say, he is exceedingly cute... Nope, not going there *eg*).

I finally got to see the new Star Trek movie! Which I enjoyed just as much as I had expected to, based on the general squeeage on LJ and IJ. I thought the Spock/Uhura relationship was rather sweet, although I realise I'm probably making few friends here... ;D

And when I got back, I found my Torquere Sip had come out as promised! *bounces*

Yes, Good Company by JL Merrow is now available for the princely sum of $1.29! Yep, I am well cheap! *g* It's a contemporary short story centering on a young hitchhiker and the older man who picks him up.

Thanks so much to the wonderful and long-suffering [livejournal.com profile] me_midget and [livejournal.com profile] torino10154 who provided invaluable help with the story and thus are probably the only people who will understand the title of this post! *hugs you both*

Great news!

Which part of Gloucester, BTW?

The bit I know is round about Longlevens and then down by the rugby ground (of course).

And I like the docks - we went to a great tall ships thing there a year or two back.

Excellent things all around! Congratulations, you. :D That's wonderful news.

I also saw the new Star Trek this weekend, and I totally agree that the Spock/Uhura romance actually worked very well. They were just so cute! Yes, of course there's a grand tradition of ST slash (esp. Kirk/Spock slash), but... cute! And totally worth it for the transporter room scene alone.

Yes, Kirk's expression was just perfect! And Scotty. I adore Simon Pegg already, but even moreso here.

So, so funny that you should say it, but I was thinking that the natural slash pairing for Kirk was Kirk/Bones as well! That one jumped out at me.

Love it. And my great-grandma was a Houghton, though from the other side of the Pennines. I've never had a deep-fried one, but I've had them sliced in a pancake!
